Adam Weinstock, Portfolio Manager & Senior Wealth AdvisorA Montreal native, Adam began his career in the financial services sector in 2000 with one of North America's premier financial institutions. Working in various roles throughout the organization over a 5 year period he spent his last 2 years in their Wealth Management division. In July of 2005, Adam joined ScotiaMcLeod in order to further concentrate on his own clients. 6 years later he has been entrusted to manage approximately $100 million in assets by his clients. Adam was recognized as ScotiaMcLeod's "Rookie of the Year" in 2006 and as an inaugural member of the firms "Growth Council" in 2010. The majority of his business is with private families, with some mandates for private pension plans as well. Adam believes in building a strong advisor-client relationship, focused on meeting client needs while simultaneously educating them. Adam strives to become his client's personal CFO, providing them with sound advice regarding all their financial matters. Adam's investment philosophy can be summed up simply as "income investing". He believes that all investors should be paid for the use of their capital and that rising investment income is the surest way to ensure a comfortable retirement. Adam's preferred vehicles for consistent returns and rising income are Dividend Growing corporations. Adam received his education at some of Montreal's finest private educational institutions. He holds a Bachelor degree from McGill University with a Major in Economics and a double minor in Management and Political Science. Committed to continually upgrading his professional skills and credentials to provide a superior level of service to his clients, Adam has completed several industry courses through the Canadian Securities Institute and has earned the Financial Management Advisor (FMA), Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) and the Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) designations. Adam currently sits on the board of one of Montreal's oldest private educational institutions, United Talmud Torah Schools, and has just begun his firm term as Vice-President. Adam is also a member of the board of the Maimonidies Geriatric Hospital Foundation and is actively involved in a number of other charitable organizations in the greater Montreal area such as Federation CJA and Le Mercaz.
Pina Vari, Administrative AssociatePina has been a member of the Scotiabank Group since 1990. She has held many roles throughout her tenure with the firm. In 2006 she left the Private Banking division to join the ScotiaMcLeod family. Since then she has held the role of Administrative Associate and regularly fills in as Branch Administrator. He has his designation from the Institut Québécois de planification financière and has completed the Professional Financial Planning Course from the CSI. He is also a Fellow of the Canadian Bankers Institute. Pierre has extensive experience in providing financial planning advice to clients with complex and sophisticated needs and goals.
