My Team

Adam Weinstock, Portfolio Manager & Senior Wealth Advisor

A Montreal native, Adam began his career in the financial services sector in 2000 with one of North America's premier financial institutions. Working in various roles throughout the organization over a 5 year period he spent his last 2 years in their Wealth Management division. In July of 2005, Adam joined ScotiaMcLeod in order to further concentrate on his own clients. 10 years later he has been entrusted to manage over $175 million in assets by his clients. Adam was recognized as ScotiaMcLeod's "Rookie of the Year" in 2006 and as an inaugural member of the firms "Growth Council" in 2010. The majority of his business is with private families, with some mandates for private pension plans as well. Adam believes in building a strong advisor-client relationship, focused on meeting client needs while simultaneously educating them. Adam strives to become his client's personal CFO, providing them with sound advice regarding all their financial matters.

Adam's investment philosophy can be summed up simply as "income investing". He believes that all investors should be paid for the use of their capital and that rising investment income is the surest way to ensure a comfortable retirement. Adam's preferred vehicles for consistent returns and rising income are Dividend Growing corporations.

Adam received his education at some of Montreal's finest private educational institutions. He holds a Bachelor degree from McGill University with a Major in Economics and a double minor in Management and Political Science. Committed to continually upgrading his professional skills and credentials to provide a superior level of service to his clients, Adam has completed several industry courses through the Canadian Securities Institute and has earned the Financial Management Advisor (FMA), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) and the Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) designations.

Adam is currently serving his first of two years as President of the board of one of Montreal's oldest private educational institutions, United Talmud Torah of Montreal Inc. Adam also sits on the board of the Foundation of the School and on the board of the Association of Jewish Day Schools. Adam is a past member of the board of the Maimonidies Geriatric Hospital Foundation and is actively involved in a number of other charitable organizations in the greater Montreal area such as Federation CJA where he is a graduate of their Leadership Development program.
